SOCIAL MEET MEMBERS RELIVING THE LAST FLIGHT


FEBRUARY 2003


ALLAN GATES CAME AND GAVE A TALK AND SLIDE SHOW ON HAWKING ABOUT EAGLES IN KANISTAN WITH TEMPERATURES OF UPTO
-20 DEGREES, FLYING EAGLES FROM THE FIST ON HORSE BACK AT FOXS AND MOUNTAIN HARES.


MARCH 2003


REGIONAL BELATED XMAS PARTY WITH A HOT POT BUFFET PARTY GAMES AND THE FAMOUS AUCTION WITH PHIL HUDSON AND
MICK FAGAN HELPED RAISE OVER £300.00 ON THE EVENING TOWARDS REGIONAL FUNDS.A THANKS TO ALL MEMBERS WHO DONATED
ITEMS LARGE OR SMALL.A SPECIAL GUEST ON THE EVENING WAS PRESIDENT DOUGLAS MORGANS.

NICK HAVEN-MART FROM HONEYBROOKE FARM CAME TOO DELIVER FROZEN HAWK FOOD (AS HE TURNS UP EVERY 3 MONTHS SPECAIL THANKS) AND GAVE A TALK ON NUTRION IN HAWK FOOD.

A VIDEO ON HAWKING IN THE SCOTTIH HIGHLANDS WITH GOSHAWKS CATCHING RABBITS
JULY 2003
DEREK STOTTON GAVE AN INTERESTING TALK ON IMPRINTING VARIOUS HAWKS AND FALCONS,AND ANSWERED LOTS OF QUESTIONS
TILL LATE IN THE NIGHT .


AUGUST 2003


NEIL WAINWRIGHT GAME KEEPER WHO BREEDS HIS OWN GROUSE TO RELEASE THEN HAWK WITH HIS OWN FALCONS A LOT
OF HARD UNSEEN WORK GOES INTO THIS.


SEPTEMBER 2003


NORTH WALES SARGEANT PETE CHARLESTON, WILD LIFE OFFICER CAME ALONG TO GIVE A TALK IN GENERAL AND WAS
MADE MOST WELCOME AND STAYED LATE TO ANSWER A LOT OF QUESTIONS.

XMAS QUIZ IN WHICH RICHARD NEWTON WON A HAWKING VEST (JEFF COCKLE AND ELLIS PHYTHIAN ALWAYS WIN?)

REGION FEILD MEETS 2003

FIRST FEILD MEET WAS ON ARLEY HALL WERE THE WEATHER WAS KIND AND SAW THE MEMBERS CATCHING PHEASANTS,DUCK ,
PARTRIDGE AND LES HEWITT CATCHING A HARE .

SECOND FEILD MEET WAS ON WESTERN PARK WERE AGAIN THE SUN SHONE ALL DAY AND THE WIND WAS LIGHT.
THE GOSHAWK GROUP JOHN ,KEVIN SIMCOX.SAW JOHNS BIRD TAKE A HEN PHEASANT IN THE WOOD AND THEN A
COCK BIRD IN FLIGHT IN THE OPEN FEILD.
THE AFTERNOON ELLIS FALCON TOOK A TEAL IN A CLASSIC FALCON STOOP.BOB BRADSHAW FLEW HIS IMPRINT PERLIN LATE ON
A CREDIT TO BOB AS THIS FALCON IS SO FIT ON THE WING.
THE HARRIS GROUP TOOK FIVE PHEASANTS AND FOUR RABBITS.

THE THIRD FIELD MEET, THE WEATHER WAS NOT KIND GALE FORCE WINDS AND VERY HEAVY SHOWERS (NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED).
THE LONGWINGS AND GOSHAWKS MADE THE MOST OF THE DAY .ELLIS FALCON TOOK A PIDGEON
THE HARRIS HAWK GROUP DID NOT TURN UP?

THE FOURTH FEILD MEET ON BODIDRIS HALL THE WEATHER WAS DAMP AND MISTY, THE GOSHAWK GROUP FLEW THE PHEASANTS AND
THE DUCK OFF FLIGHT PONDS BUT THE WEATHER MADE IT A DIFFICULT TO GET A POINT. BUT WE ALL HAD A COUPLE OF PHEASANTS
IN THE BAG. LEE FEATHERSTONE'S CLUB FEMALE TOOK TWO PHEASANTS LATE ON, THE FEMALE I WAS FLYING OF MICK WYNNS TOOK A COCK
BIRD,HEN BIRD AND A DRAKE MALLARD IN FIVE FLIGHTS.
THE HARRIS HAWK AND FALCON GROUP FOUND THE WEATHER A STRUGGLE, AS WE DID, IT WAS TO DAMP AND MISTY FOR THE FALCONS TO FLY
AND GET A PITCH.,BUT, THERE ARE MORE FIELD MEETS IN 2004.

The North Wales Region has many members flying various birds from all over the northwest. From the beginner to the experienced falconer alike, you are welcomed to join many of the field meetings we arrange. From Yorkshire to Lancashire and North Wales, flying various quarry,rabbits, pheasants, duck, partridge, every member gets a fare chance to come along and fly there bird or spectate. We have many guest speakers attending the monthly meeting, which have included, guy wallace, terry pickford, martin hollinshead. We also have various vets and breeders peter gill, Derek stottin, with Ben long coming along every month bringing his quality falconry furniture for members to purchase. We have a monthly raffle with prizes varying from books to hawking vests and falconry furniture. Members are given the opportunity to join the Country Side Alliance and benefit from the block insurance scheme.
